Learn "You Belong With Me" by Taylor Swift...

The song You Belong With Me by Taylor Swift, was recorded in the key of F sharp. So, this means you will need to know how to play barre chords if you want to play along with the recording...

Believe it or not, there are only 4 chords... F, C#, G#m, B... used throughout this entire song!  Here are the chord charts...

The verse and chorus for You Belong With Me use a I V II IV chord progression. I prefer using the B at the 2nd fret over the verses and the B at the 7th fret over the chorus (the numbers on the left of the chord charts indicate what fret you are on.)

All you have to do is strum each chord for two measures using a 4/4 rhythm.

You can get sheet music for You Belong To Me in the key of G, if the barre chords are too difficult for you to play right now. Another alternative is to play the song with a capo so that you can use easier chords shapes.

Taylor began writing songs on a Baby Taylor guitar. She  released of her debut single titled Tim McGraw in 2006.  This was followed shortly thereafter by the release of her first "self-titled" album: Taylor Swift.  In 2008, two years later, she released her third album which won 4 Grammy awards, including Album of the Year.  That's quite an accomplishment in such a short time!

Taylor Swift is a self-taught guitar player. Apparently, she learned her first few guitar chords when she was 12 from a guy who came over to fix her computer.  Since then Taylor has taught herself. Which just goes to show that...
