5 TOP RATED GUITAR ACCESSORIES - Any Guitarist Can Use...

Guitar players always seem to be on the lookout for some new book, gadget, item, or other piece of equipment. I think that's because, as musicians, we have a desire to sound good, look cool, and be able to develop our skills to the best of our ability. Having the right equipment is important because it enables us to do just that.

So, here is a list of my top 5 rated guitar accessories that every guitarist can use. These items are relatively inexpensive and make excellent gifts too...

5 TOP RATED GUITAR ACCESSORIES:

1. Capo:

  • Shubb C1 Original Capo - I have tried other capos, but this is the one I prefer. It was designed for steel-string acoustic guitars and electric guitars, but I also use it on my classical guitars. Very simple, fast and easy to use. It is also very stable so the strings will stay in tune.  Overall Customer Satisfaction...

2. Gig Bag / Guitar Case:

3. Tuner:

4.Guitar Maintenance Kit:

5. Guitar Strings:

  • Elixir Nanoweb Acoustic Guitar Strings - These are the strings I've been using on my steel string acooustic guitar lately. They produce a nice, bright sound and have a tendency to last longer, so you save money in the long run by not having to buy strings as often. Their patented coating technology prevents contamination and corrosion. Overall Customer Satisfaction...

Here is a sweet video clip of Johnny Cash playing "Thanksgiving Prayer" on an TV show several years ago.  I tabbed out the chords and strum pattern below so that you can play along with him!

You'll need to use a capo at the 2nd fret to be in tune with Johnny Cash.

Chords & Strum Pattern:

Use the same strum pattern shown above to play the chord progression for each verse & chorus...

Verse 1:

| G | D | Em | Em | C | C | G | G |

Verse 2:

| G | D | Em | Em | C | C | D | D |

Chorus:

| C | C | G | G | C | C | D | D |

||: G | D | Em | Em | C | D | G | G  :||

Tag:

| G | D |

(Repeat from beginning)

TIP:

The alternating pick is reversed on the D chord....
Strike the 4th string/strum D chord, then strike the 5th string/strum D chord.

Thanksgiving Prayer

We've come to the time in the season
When family and friends gather near
To offer a prayer of Thanksgiving
For blessings we've known through the year
To join hands and thank the Creator
And now when Thanksgiving is due
This year when I count my blessings
I'm thanking the Lord He made you
This year when I count my blessings
I'm thanking the Lord He made you

I'm grateful for the laughter of children
The sun and the wind and the rain
The color of blue in your sweet eyes
The sight of a high ball and train
The moon rise over a prairie
Old love that you've made new
This year when I count my blessings
I'm thanking the Lord He made you
This year when I count my blessings
I'm thanking the Lord He made you

And when the time comes to be going
It won't be in sorrow and tear
I'll kiss you goodbye and I'll go on my way
Grateful for all of the years
I'm thankful for all that you gave me
For teaching me what love can do
Thanksgiving day for the rest of my life
I'm thanking the Lord He made you
Thanksgiving day for the rest of my life
I'm thanking the Lord He made you
