ONLINE GUITAR LESSONS - Pro's & Con's

Have you noticed how popular online guitar lessons have become recently? It's seems there is a new site appearing every other day!

Nowadays, you can find abundant information about how to play various guitar styles and techniques without even paying a dime! But, are online guitar lessons as good as having a private lesson with an actual instructor? What are the pro's and con's of virtual vs. real?

One of the most obvious "pro's" is price. Most guitar sites, like mine, offer a lot of information for free. Membership sites usually charge a small monthly or annual fee, but the price is often minimal when compared to what you'd pay for a private lesson with a professional instructor.

Online guitar lessons have improved significantly with the advent of video and audio technology too. All you need is a good connection speed and the internet can provide you with your own virtual instructor. You can both see and hear the music he/she is playing, or has put together for you to learn, along with his/her insider tips.

One disavantage however, is that the instructor cannot see you! This may create a problem if you are having trouble executing a specific technique or need help correcting a bad habit you may not be aware of.

Interactive online guitar lessons are probably the best way to go, if you can find them, because they give you an opportunity to ask your instructor questions about areas you may be having difficulty with.

There are many other things you should consider before jumping in, but I won't take time for that here. You can read all about it on my website, so follow this link to go there now...
