Neil Young will be interviewed tonight on the PBS "American Masters" television series at 9pm Eastern Standard Time.

Now's your chance to hear directly from the man himself and learn why this particular songwriter has impacted so many of us.

Sometimes referred to as "the godfather of grunge" and often controversial, Neil Young carved a career for himself that spans over four decades. He has collaborated with such notable bands as Buffalo Springfield, Crazy Horse and Crosby, Stills, and Nash (later known as Crosby, Stills, Nash, Young, Taylor and Reeves). In 1995, Neil Young was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

He rebelled against the pressures of super stardom and stated...

“I didn’t spend 10 years in the 60s and 70s creating something so I could be a prisoner of it … You know if you’re trying to stay in the favor of the public, you’re a loser – you’ll never get there.”

Neil Young - Living With War

My admiration for Neil Young goes well beyond his being an excellent musician and songwriter. I love his honesty. What you see is what you get with Neil. There is no pretense, no fluff and no need for it either.

Be sure to tune in to American Masters tonight. Your bound to hear some great music and get a bit of Rock and Roll nostalgia too.

Till next time...

Keep practicing!

I really agree with his honesty as well. It's rare to find musicians these days who are not bound by the demands of a mainstream society. Some of these up and coming artists almost disgust me with their feeble attempts at originality.
